Why static pages

Hosting and security comes for free when using it via Gitlab. Besides, alternatives are crappy:

• Medium is absolute crap: slow to load, bloated with javascript, probably also spywareish
• Wordpress is also slow, with ads
• Blogger is google owned
• … do we have some alternatives left?

Even though our computing power increases every year, out internet gets faster and we get devices with more memory, everything feels shittier and slower due to crap javascript infested web. This should be addressed with SSGs since no (or very little) javascript is used. In case of this site, only one small script is used to toggle the burger menu when on mobile.
